Vision

Divine Buzz is a community interest company (CIC) based in Thamesmead Moorings. Our goal is to eliminate isolation and loneliness and create a community where people work well together with few instances of solitude. 

Mission  

Our mission is to empower women, children, and their families through physical exercise, social and educational programmes that promote physical health, mental well-being, and personal development. A community where everyone feels welcome and included, regardless of race, colour, gender, or sexual orientation. 

The challenge 

Thamesmead Mooring and the surrounding areas fall under one of the deprived areas in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. About fifty percent of the population are from the BAME community, mainly  Eastern Europe, Caribbean and West Africa. The community has many identified needs, and loneliness and isolation are two of the most prevalent issues. Its causes cannot be attributed to a single factor. It could be a lack of job opportunities, poor health, language barriers, immigration issues, and a lack of skills, among other things. The COVID-19 exacerbated the problems, and now the high cost of living crisis.

Strategy    

Divine Buzz's strategy is to seek funding and collaborate with funding organisations, local governments, and philanthropies who share our vision. We also raise funds through local events and engage in small business, mechanising some of the Arts and Crafts products created by our participants. For example washable shopping bags, head scarves, beaded jewellery, bonnets, etc.

We collaborate with other organisations to reduce costs and improve outcomes by sharing resources, expertise, and information where appropriate. We recruit local volunteers and promote training and skill-building to increase the efficiency of staff and volunteers.

Upon completion of projects, we compile a comprehensive report which includes participation rate, complaints, compliments, and feedback for our sponsors to know how their donation was spent and the impact they have made as a result of their generosity. If permitted we promote their brands at all our local events and website..

Objectives

Our goal is to help local women and children overcome isolation and loneliness, learn new skills, gain new confidence in themselves, integrate into the community, and use the skills they have learned to advance themselves and achieve their full potential.
